Sales Account Manager

 

£32,000 – £35,000 per annum basic salary with flexibility for more depending on experience

 

Monday – Friday, (40 hours worked per week. 1 hour unpaid daily break). Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm

 

Leicester, Meridian Business Park. Fully office based

Holiday entitlement: 23 days + 8 Bank Holidays. A handful of these days will need to be used to cover Christmas shut down.

 

Match Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of their client based in Leicester. This is a fully office based position, working alongside and supporting Area Sales Managers and the Sales Director.

 

This role is ideal for a motivated, resilient sales professional who enjoys building relationships over the phone and is confident making targeted outbound calls to contractors and new prospects. The position is heavily telephone-based, with a strong emphasis on proactive outbound sales activity. While strong organisational skills and a high level of customer service experience is important, the primary focus of the role is sales development. Construction industry knowledge would be advantageous but not essential.

 

The day to day duties of the Sales Account Manager:

 

You’ll focus heavily on outbound lead generation, using tools such as Glenigans and BIP to identify projects, key contacts, and early-stage opportunities, then approaching them directly to build a consistent pipeline for the external team.

 

Cold calling is a core part of the role. You’ll be speaking to new prospects daily, working through gatekeepers and introducing the business from a standing start to generate interest and open up opportunities. This is a high-volume, resilient approach to business development. Rejection and non-response are part of the process, so maintaining consistency, structure, and activity levels is key to building momentum over time.

 

Alongside this, you’ll manage and follow up quotations across a set number of live projects within the CRM, keeping activity moving and ensuring opportunities are progressed rather than sitting idle.

 

You’ll produce and qualify customer estimates as required, making sure full project scope is captured and working with ASM’s to ensure quotes are issued on time and aligned with requirements.

 

You’ll maintain an accurate and up-to-date CRM, tracking activity, managing your pipeline, and running weekly opportunity reports to keep visibility on progress.

 

You’ll also support the upkeep of a clean customer database while building relationships with key contacts, becoming a consistent and reliable point of contact across both new and existing opportunities.
